About Obeywho
Assalamu alaikum, and welcome. I’m a Muslim living in Toronto, and I’m studying the Bible in depth, one book and one passage at a time.
Why I started Obeywho
I started Obeywho because I wanted people to see the Bible from a Muslim perspective, to better understand how its text changed over time, and how Jesus himself taught and followed the worship of one God.
How I try to do it
- Quote accurately. Bible passages are quoted word for word from the King James Version, and Qur’an passages from Pickthall’s translation, with a link to read each one in context.
- State the Christian view fairly first, in words a Christian would accept, before giving the Muslim reading.
- Show both sides of the scholarship, Christian and critical, so you can weigh the arguments yourself.
- Correct my mistakes. I’m still learning. If I get something wrong, please tell me and I’ll fix it.
Why the name Obeywho
I chose the name Obeywho because of a question we all face: who should we obey? Ourselves? The people and authorities around us? Or the God who created us? Obeywho asks where our obedience truly belongs, and who the ultimate authority over our lives really is.
